Greenfield Redundant Data Centers

Tishman Technologies recently completed construction of two 250,000 sf 2N greenfield data centers. The projects were completed in an aggressive 19 month schedule and included 90,000 sf of raised flooring in each facility. The balance of the space consists of critical mechanical and electrical equipment, along with a small administrative office component. Each building has 500,000 linear feet of electrical conduit installed below the slab, as well as a 6,000 ton chilled water plant with 50,000 gallons of additional water storage, sixteen 750 kVA UPS systems and six 2,000 KW emergency generators. Tishman also oversaw the prepurchase of mission critical equipment for these two data centers, plus four others that the firm is constructing across the country. Tishman was able to negotiate volume discounts of 10% for all of the equipment, on top of an additional 5% savings due to Tishman’s national purchasing power discounts. The projects included complete out of the ground construction of the core and shell, as well as the installation, commissioning and testing of all equipment and related MEP infrastructure. Gensler served as the project’s architect, and EYP MCF provided engineering services for these facilities.
